Blue-Eyed Mary
(Collinsia verna)
Back
Duff Park is one of the few places where this rare plant grows. An abundance of this plant clings to the steep left slope off Violet trail close by the parking lot. The flower is only 0.5-inch across with two white upper petals and three bright blue lower ones. The middle petal is inconspicuous. It grows in some other natural areas in SWPA as well.
All photographs taken at Duff Park by Pat Comas, Tom Morton, Kyle Selcer and Theo van de Venne.
